Squffy engraved dog tags: stainless steel with an 18K gold-plated finish, laser-engraved with the name on the front, with optional back engraving for a phone number or address. Typically the dog's name on the front, owner's phone or address on the back. You choose the engraving as you build the tag.
Tags pair with any Squffy collar (Classic, Tactical, or Puppy) via the spring gate ring included in the box. Clip the spring gate ring onto the collar's D-ring and you're done. They also pair with collars from elsewhere, as long as the D-ring is standard size.

What makes a Squffy dog tag different
Front and back
Front: the dog's name, large and clear, readable at arm's length.
Back, if you add it: the recovery info: phone, address, an allergy or medication note. Plenty of tags can only take one side. We offer the back because that is the side that matters when a stranger finds your dog.
Solid metal, no painted layer
Engraved into the tag itself, not printed, not stickered. The text is cut into the metal, so there is no surface layer to lift or scuff away. Every tag is 18K gold-plated stainless steel.

Questions we get the most
Do I need both an embroidered collar AND an engraved tag?
Most owners do, yes. The collar carries the name (visible, social, at a glance). The tag carries the recovery info (phone, address). In the UK, dogs in public are legally required to carry their owner's identification on their collar. Across Europe, identification requirements vary by country, with microchipping widely required. The embroidered collar isn't a legal substitute. It's the social one.
What goes on the front vs the back?
Front: the name, large enough to read at arm's length. Back, if you add it: phone number, address, and any critical note like an allergy or 'on medication, please call.' You set both as you build the tag.
Will the engraving wear off?
It's etched into the metal itself, not printed or stickered, so there is no surface layer to wear away. The plate does pick up scuffs at the edges from tapping against the ring.
What are the tags made of?
18K gold-plated stainless steel, in one finish across every shape. The warm gold tone sits naturally against a Classic or Puppy collar, and reads as a deliberate contrast against a Tactical one.
Does the tag clip onto any collar, or only Squffy?
Onto any collar with a D-ring. The clasp is a spring gate ring: fits Squffy collars, fits other collars, fits a harness ring if you prefer. The engraving is universal; only the color matching is Squffy-specific.
What if my dog's phone number changes?
Order a replacement tag. We don't re-engrave existing tags. The original engraving stays in the metal, and overlay engraving makes a mess. New phone, new tag. About €15 for the basic shapes.

What to look for
What to engrave
Two lines per side. The most-asked-for layout: dog's name on the front, your phone number or address on the back. If your text won't engrave clearly at that size, we'll email you before we start and suggest an adjustment.
The engraving itself
Laser-etched, not stamped or printed. It goes into the metal itself, rather than sitting on top as a coating.
Compatibility
Every tag ships with a spring gate ring that fits any standard D-ring, including Squffy Classic, Tactical, and Puppy collars. If you've already got a non-Squffy collar with a standard D-ring, the tag will fit that too.
